Paul studied psychology at Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg and completed his Master´s degree in Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy and Clinical Neuroscience. Following that, he obtained the German Approbation for Psychotherapists.
In 2026 he joined Lorenz´ lab as a PhD student, investigating cognitive conflicts and reward learning, focusing on patients with ADHD, depression and Non-Suicidal-Self-Injury (NSSI). He is also involved in a project, which analyzes a possible prodromal phase for depression in children and adolescents, using a newly developed interview. In his research, Paul focuses on electroencepahlography, self-report measures and also computational modeling.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys watching and also playing football, and is a huge supporter of 1. FC Köln. He also likes to visit other countries and explore new cultures.
