Anika holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Leiden University, where she specialized in Neurocognitive Processes. She subsequently completed Master's degrees in Psychology and Translational Neuroscience, gaining both clinical experience and training in advanced neuroscientific methods. This interdisciplinary background has strongly shaped her research interests. During her studies, she worked as a research assistant in Lorenz Lab, contributing to a fMRI and EEG research project. Her Master's thesis investigated reversal learning in individuals with ADHD and marked her first engagement with computational modeling approaches.
Anika is currently training to become a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist while pursuing her PhD in Lorenz Lab. Her research focuses on understanding the neurocomputational mechanisms underlying learning and decision-making across development, with a particular emphasis on ADHD. Her work combines computational modeling with fMRI analyses to investigate these processes.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature. She is particularly passionate about road cycling in the mountains, horse riding, running, and swimming. Most of all, she enjoys sharing these activities with the people close to her.
